ViSenze takes Gold Award at the 4th ASEAN ICT Awards 2015

Award attests to ViSenze's outstanding innovation and private enterprise performance.

asean-ict-award-colorViSenze, a pioneer in visual search and image recognition technology, took the coveted Gold Award (Private Sector category) at the ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA) 2015 ceremony held on 26 November 2015 in Danang city, Vietnam.

The prestigious annual awards, the 4th in the ASEAN ICT Awards series, represents the most respected business accolade in the ASEAN technology industry. After a stringent evaluation process that evaluated over hundred of nominations submitted since April 2015, ViSenze was shortlisted to make a final round competitive pitch to esteemed judges in October 2015 for the final top 3 placings. Judges comprised invited industry experts and representatives from across ASEAN countries. Some of the key criteria used for identifying winners in the Private Sector category included how nominees were able to demonstrate reduction in business operation cost, increase in efficiency, improvement of revenues using ICT as a strategic business tool, as well as clear implementation results.

Founded in August 2012 as a technology spin-off from the National University of Singapore (NUS), ViSenze has developed a state-of-art and highly scalable visual search engine based on deep learning and computer vision technology. By focusing on solving search problems in the retail space, ViSenze’s vision based SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) platform allows any product image to be used as a search query to search for exact or visually similar products from any online database. This innovation saves consumers from the hassle of guessing keywords, making the search process more efficient as well as uplifting conversion rates for online retailers significantly.
