ViSenze wins prestigious National Infocomm Award 2014

ViSenze, a fast emerging leader in Visual Search, today announced that it has been awarded the prestigious 2014 National Infocomm Award (NIA). ViSenze is named a winner for the Category of Most Innovative Infocomm Product/Solution for its flagship product - Visual Search (ViSearch), which is evaluated based on the product’s innovativeness, use of advanced technology, ease of use, market presence, business impact and relevance to Singapore's Smart Nation vision. The biennial award, jointly organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), is Singapore's highest accolade for infocomm innovation.

Founded in August 2012 as a technology spin-off from the National University of Singapore (NUS), ViSenze develops cutting-edge visual recognition solutions to address the challenges of the visual web. ViSearch is a powerful cloud based image-to-image search platform that enables users to search for objects in images and videos by using images instead of keywords. The product addresses the fundamental problem that text-based search engines cannot solve when processing images.

We were the first in the region to pioneer and launch visual powered ecommerce applications with our ‘Reverse Image Search’ feature on both web and mobile,” said Oliver Tan, Co-founder and CEO of ViSenze. ViSearch is used widely in eCommerce, database management, and mobile applications. In online shopping, ViSearch helps retailers to create better consumer experience by letting shoppers snap or upload a picture of a product and use that to search for other similar looking products immediately. In large-scale database management, ViSearch is used for real-time and high-performance retrieval of images accurately; saving time, human effort and costs.

ViSenze counts key players like Rakuten, Zalora, Goodrich Global and Clozette amongst its international clientele today, which also include customers from China, Japan, Taiwan, India, South East Asia and North America.
